San Francisco woke to a magnitude 4.1 earthquake early Thursday morning
as per the US Geological Survey. Shaking was observed in the 5th inning at five:07 a.m.
in the local time The epicenter was being located near the East Bay, near Bay Point.
The quake was classified as minor and there was no evidence of any significant damages
However, over five thousand users posted on Twitter within a short time
to say that the quake caused them to be a bit scared or agitated
and remind one another of the need to plan for more significant catastrophes.
California does not yet have yet an alert method in the event of seismicity as do Japan
and Mexico however, California's University of California Berkeley has an MyShake
application that can detect earthquakes 4.5 or more as per the government's web site.
